Days after surviving heart attack, veteran actor/comedian, Prince Yawson a.k.a ”Waakye” has said, it is time to get closer to God and do his work.

He believes God spared his life just so he could live a new life, evangelising and spreading the gospel.

“What I see is that God is trying to tell me something because he’s been calling me to do his work but I always find an excuse for Him (God) so this is the only way that will draw me closer to Him (God).

“I’ll start evangelising or train to be a pastor to do his work and if anything I wouldn’t go through a situation like this again. At a point I became powerless but I realised God gave me back my life because he wants me to do a job for him.”

The veteran actor was rushed to the Trust Hospital in Osu by a coconut seller in what is suspected to be mild stroke on Friday, 3rd March, 2017 but was later referred to the 37 Military Hospital.

He noted that, he now spends over Ghc 800 on medication every week and this is extremely difficult for him to bear, adding that he’s looking up to God for support as he’s always been his helper.

Waakye who hails from Winneba, shot into fame during the popular TV Drama series “Obra”.

He later starred in movies like ‘Ogboo’ and ‘Man Woman’. He has also featured in most of Harry Laud’s productions and series like Jagger Pee series and the Living Arts Show.

He’s also a director and scriptwriter. He is currently divorced with two children.
