Ace Ghanaian satirist and TV personality, Kweku Sintim-Misa (KSM), also host of The KSM, always have something mind-boggling to share on faith/religion, spirituality, and logic.

Not long ago, he had graciously declared that he trusts his barber more than God: Read Below:

I Trust My Barber More Than GOD – KSM Says So And Defends It

Many are those who don’t believe in the God-concept based on the reason that the whole concept of God gives hope, based of faith, but lacks facts/logic. Call such Schools of Thought Atheists or Agnostics.

KSM, for the records, is neither known to the public as an Atheist nor an Agnostic – he simply says “I’m simply spiritual, not religious.” But espousing the Atheistic and Agnostic stands, KSM is confused as to what is faith and what is hope and which comes first.

He shares (unedited):

“HOPE OR FAITH”

Just thinking about these two words and how different or similar they are. Is our hope based on our faith? Or is our faith based on our hopes? Can you have one without the other? What is the relationship?

I am convinced they are different. One is based on logic, the other is not. If you guessed that HOPE is based on logic, then we are on the same page. The only time I have hope is where I see evidence. Practical evidence gives me hope.

For example, if my company is not doing well, and I institute certain practical steps to make changes, I can say, based on the changes, that there is hope. The results I expect from the changes will give me hope.

On the other hand, if the company is going down, and I don’t make any changes, but somehow believe that things are going to get better, my confidence will be based on faith and not hope. Faith does not depend on logic, hope does.

So for me, my faith is rooted in my hopes and not the other way round. I know this is debatable, but faith without hope is blind faith. Blind faith kills, hope heals!!

So by all means have faith, but make sure it is not blind faith. Seek ye first the rudiments that give you hope and your faith shall be built upon it!
